Kacha for Accountants · CPAs and tax agents
Receipts in. VAT3 out.
Kacha collects your clients’ receipts, checks them against KRA, and fills KRA’s own VAT3 workbook — so month-end is review and validate, not retyping.
Your clients scan on their phones · You work in the browser · You still upload the return on iTax
The month, start to finish
One path from a client’s receipt to a filed return.
Each step has its own place in the portal, and a checklist keeps track of where each client stands.
Link your clients
Invite a client by their KRA PIN, or give them your share code to enter on their side.
See who is ready
A filing calendar shows every client’s month at a glance: ready, needs review, blocked, or filed.
Fix what is missing
Correct a supplier PIN, invoice number, credit note or tax treatment right on the receipt.
Verify with KRA
Check a client’s invoices against the KRA eTIMS portal in bulk, at a pace KRA’s portal allows.
Complete the worksheet
Add sales, payments already made, withholding certificates and the credit brought forward. The return computes beside you.
Download KRA’s workbook
Every section you filled, in KRA’s own VAT3 workbook with its macros intact. Open it, press Validate.
Record the filing
Mark it filed with the iTax acknowledgement. The exact workbook is stored and the month is locked.
What you get
Built around how a VAT3 is actually prepared.
A book of clients
Bring on clients by KRA PIN or share code, each linked with their consent and revocable by them.
A filing calendar
See every client’s position for the period, sorted so the ones needing work come first. Select the ready ones and download them together.
Fix at the source
Correct supplier PINs, invoice numbers, dates, credit notes, imports and digital-supply purchases on the receipt itself, with a history of what changed.
KRA verification in bulk
Check a month’s invoices against the KRA eTIMS portal, with reconciliation of what KRA holds against what the receipt says.
KRA’s workbook, filled
Purchases, sales, payments, withholding certificates and credits go into KRA’s own template — macros intact, formats and locks as the template expects.
The return, computed
Output VAT, input VAT, credit brought forward and net payable, calculated the way the workbook calculates them, so you see the answer before you open Excel.
A record that holds
Marking a month filed stores the exact workbook with a checksum and the iTax acknowledgement, and locks that month’s receipts until reopened.
Bulk download
Pick clients on the calendar and download all their workbooks as one zip.
An audit trail
Every export, correction, verification and filing is recorded against the person who did it, and visible to your firm’s admins.
Honest scope
We prepare the return. KRA’s workbook still checks it.
Kacha does not file on iTax for you, and it does not replace the checks KRA’s own template makes.
What stays with you
- You open the workbook in Excel and press Validate — KRA’s own checks are the final word.
- You upload the return on iTax. Kacha records the acknowledgement you get back.
- KRA revises its template: use the bundled version, or upload the latest .xlsm and Kacha fills that instead.
- You decide what is claimable. Kacha shows you what is missing and why a row would be rejected.
